Hi guys

Age old question for you experienced guys on here. I have inherited a vintage Omega Seamaster 30 Manual with a dark blue or black face with a metal Omega original bracelet. (see photos, apologies for quality)

Ive tried my own research and have no idea about this watch as Ive never found any of this style with a metal bracelet. I know some of you have access to other databases and and praying for some assistance.

Also, I do not have access to the appropriate tool to remove the back to identify the piece and no jewellers in my area have either. Tips !!!

I live in Newport in Gwent if this assists with a helpful jeweller.

Thanks in advance.

K

Early 1960s hand wound probably caliber 286, case ref possibly 135.007.

The 30 refers to the diameter of the movement, 30-mm. The cal 286 is an evolution of the caliber 30SC from the 40s.

Bracelets were a dealer added accessory, so any number of different combinations were possible.

XJR explained it - back then you purchased the watch head and added a strap or bracelet from the dealer's stock.

BTW, if you push the flower button on your camera it goes into macro mode and shoots better close-ups.

Thanks guys, some more for you...

1. Whats the best place to get it valued and to sell on?
2. And the age old typical question, any estimates on its value please?

Thanks again

You'll need much better photos for any kind of more detailed evaluation.

I hope these are better for you but I'm no photographer...just a ball park figure would be appreciated and some guidance on a genuine place for selling. Thanks

For some general ideas you should check eBay for completed sale of similar watches.

Those Beads of Rice bracelets sell for $100 - $150 depending on condition the last time I kept up with prices on them. The watch head, if correct and not a redial, will go for $400 - $550 I think. If it's in better condition than I can guess from the pictures it might sell for a smidge more.
