Vintage Oris or random nonsense?

I think I know the answer to this one (the latter in the thread title) but I just wanted to be sure as it's going cheap and I quite like it haha

There aren't many pictures on the ad, I've asked for a movement picture. The ad states it has an 'ST96 Movement'

Looks like one of the India specials of the fakes to me.

View attachment 1774360 At one time, before the quartz crisis resulted in havoc in the Swiss watch industry, Oris was a line of cheap watches, a cut above Timex. I suspect this one originated back then. Or, it could be a wannabe! ST 69 movements do not have sweep seconds hands. So this thing has something else behind that dial. When the Oris name re-surfaced years later, under someone else’s ownership, the line had moved way up stream.

Here is a picture of an ST 69 movement. It was typically used it low priced ladie’s watches, decades ago.
