I've come across this watch in a local estate sale and I'm looking for feedback on it's authenticity. I only have these two photos and details from the auction site. The auction site estimates it's selling price to be between $600 - $900
Thanks!!!!!!

If you have to ask, step away from the buying paddle.

Can you share with me what the telling signs are? I did read that Omega never printed Incabloc on the faces of their watches, but other than that, what else are you be going by?

It is a pile of shit. It has every tell going. The marks on the outside are a sign of a fake made in plated metal. Note the greening, it is not gold. Secondly the fonts are all wrong. Thirdly you said it yourself, when did you ever see an Omega with Incabloc on the dial, so why ask? You chose wisely if you were after a good example of a terrible fake.

That.

plus the fonts, the 30t2, the general finish on the dial, the logo and purported gold content on the caseback.

stick around and read lots, you’ll be spotting the fakes in NO time!

I had no idea that the fraud was so pervasive in vintage watches. Omegas anyway. Not sure how this is going to be taken when I tell the auction house. Thanks to all!!!

They probably won’t care. I emailed a UK auction house a few weeks ago to let them know they were selling a similar fake. No reply, no removal of the lot and no amendments to the description.

This is a very old fake, contemporary to the genuine watches it was (poorly) emulating. It is very, very easily identifiable as a fake. Newly produced fakes of vintage watches are a different kettle of fish and in some cases it takes care, skill and experience to spot them. Vintage Omegas are rarely faked and only a few references are really badly hit by it - compare that to Rolex and there is no contest. These are faked across the board... And better than Omegas.
