And you have the special tool these watches need for crystals 😉

The one written on the back of the watch case …

If you can’t get the original get some generic sternkreuz. Make sure they’re the right type, (eg with or without tension ring) and get one size either side of what you think it will be be.

I have the tools to remove and install these.

I think I have the size just above ordered. Ordering this one is all about the cyclops. I have a watchmaker friend that I can raid his crystal collection and am almost certain to find one to fit.

So, update time.

Serviced the cal 565. Running very happy. Will be doing a fine regulating tomorrow once it settles in.

I’ll be getting a generic plain no cyclops crystal from a watchmaker friend until the cyclops one comes in.

The cracks in the crystal will drive me nuts otherwise.

More work to come.

Ok so the crystal came is. No remember it is not original. Also remember it was 33.07 not the 32.9something it was supposed to be.

It fit but I wouldn’t go more than 33.07mm. It wasn’t an easy fit but it wasn’t the hardest I have done either.

I am still going to look for an original for it but this will do till I find one. At least I can enjoy it now.

That looks fine, I wouldn't worry too much about finding the correct one, not in any hurry anyway.....If one turns up all well and good!

Unfortunately after a couple days a stress crack appeared. Looks like I’m going for the million dollar crystal after all.

Can someone please provide me the exact product code for my watch? It is a 166.026. Case.

I found another crystal, this time no cyclops which doesn’t really upset me. It fits, not as tight as the last one. No movement and was easy to install which is a plus. I think I have a winner now.

Being in Australia, it takes forever to have parts shipped. Well it’s finally done. Time to enjoy it.
