Hey everyone! Recently came across an odd-looking movement and wanted to get your opinion on whether this is an original Omega movement. This movement did not seem to show up on online databases, but I don't see how it could be a fake either. After a whole lot of searching, I couldn't find a single detail about this watch. A franken perhaps? I'm really interested to learn more about this piece before purchasing it! Hopefully someone can enlighten 馃榾

The movement is a R17.8 SC.

Why do you think it's military?

Here is a listing for the movement:

http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&2&2uswk&Omega_R17_8SC

The picture inside is for the sub-seconds version, while your watch is the center seconds version (SC).

The watch looks correct to me, although the dial has too much patina for my taste. The crown may have been replaced, but it is difficult to tell for sure. Some models have large crowns.

Thank you! I had the impression it's at least military-styled because of the combination of size, dial, syringe hands and all-lume indices.
