Hey guys, i’m new to all of this and I see that someone is selling what appears to be an Omega Genève. Guy says that it belonged to a relative of his who got it after working many years at a company. Can anyone here please help me and let me know if this is a fake? Thanks!

What is it about the seller's story that has you thinking it may be a fake?

Nothing specific, but it is an online seller. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

I’m not an expert on these specific models, but it seems completely genuine to me.

This watch was well loved, looks alright in the photos to be genuine.
I don't like the unsigned crown and the 1012 works well but not my favourite.
If making an offer, $300USD tops.

It's genuine enough, but a 70's cal. 10XX Omega Geneve with gold plate that has started to flake off is a complete no-starter for me, even more so with an engraving on the caseback. IMO, this is a watch for spare parts. That's the collector in me speaking, sorry if it comes across a bit brash 😀
