Vintage Gold Omega 30T2(?) Information and Advice

Hi everyone,

A number of years ago I was gifted this watch that belonged to my Grandfather, who sadly passed away almost 30 years ago. I believe he received it for his 21st, which was in 1950.
For reference, this was in NSW, Australia.

When I received it, it had no crystal and was missing the bezel. At the time, my best option for getting the watch to a wearable state was to have a local watchmaker place a domed crystal over the dial (pictured in 3rd photo). The watch winds and runs, but as it’s not had a service in at least 30 years (or maybe never), I’ve avoided winding it as much as possible.

I believe it’s made of gold, and the hands are blued which I think is really beautiful.

I’m just hoping to find out a little more about the watch, so any information would be greatly appreciated. Anything about the year, model number, history, etc. I’m also hoping to have the bezel replaced if anyone knows where and how I could source one.

I’d love to have the watch serviced properly, but that might be outside my budget right now (any insight as to what that is likely to cost would also be super helpful).

Thanks so much in advance

Any chance you can show us the inside? Otherwise it's hard to say very much about it.

Ah, I see. I’ll be able to get some pics of the inside in a few weeks, but I won’t actually have the watch on me again until then.

These are some older photos I took back in 2019.

Thanks for the input though

A service in Sydney will cost around 300, more if parts are required
