Mafkees
·Dear OF,
Up for your consideration is this sparkly 1970s package in jumbo size. The dial is a true eye-catcher and varies from a gold-ish tone to silver-grey depending on lighting conditions.
Cyma: a brand we all know and love. Somewhere in the 1970s the brand was acquired by SYNCHRON and they made some great watches in their own respect. This particular reference features a jumbo case and a textured dial, and a striking blue seconds hand. Despite its wide case, it wears surprisingly comfortable for someone like me, with smaller wrists (17cm). The design all in all in very well-balanced (see picture for dimensions).

The case has a substantial wrist presence, but it doesn't overpower, since it is very elegant and thin en profile. This makes it very comfortable and not top heavy, unlike - for example - the similarly shaped Omega Dynamics of this period, which are far more tall. The watch is a mere 10mm tall, including the crystal, and therefore will slide readily under any cuff. Jumbo size done right, if you ask me.
The watch is very well finished across the board. The original bracelet has solid links (except the end links and center links) and is easy to resize, thanks to the pin-system. The clasp has micro-adjustments. It should fit between 17 and 19cm wrists without removing any links and just using the micro-adjustments in the clasp.
The round, generic crystal unfortunately has some damage (most notably a chip and some bigger scratches, no cracks though). It is a generic shape so that shouldn't set you back more than €30.00, if you find it disturbing. I thought it was fine. I took a video to show off the dial and the captivating case properly.
The movement type is unknown to me, but it runs strong and it keeps time well for any vintage standard. The date is located at six o'clock and the date disk is dark grey, which I think is a lovely touch. The quick-set date (forward) is fully functional.
