I acquired this piece from a private party approximately 10 years ago.

Case. 14902 SC-61
Calibre. 561
Serial. 19078632 (from 1962)

After studying Desmond’s calibre/reference quick reference list, 14029 SC-61 isn’t listed. The closest reference number on his list is CK 14902 which he describes as stainless steel with calendar.

I’ve googled Omega 14902 SC-1 and got several hits with pictures of Constellations that look like mine. So, I’m inclined to believe the authenticity of my Constellation’s reference number…and that for whatever reason it wasn’t included on Desmond’s list.

I also noticed on the list that there are two additional reference numbers for calibre 561 from the early 60’s, 168.004 and 168.005 that are described as full range of metal cases and calendar.

My questions are…

1) Is 14902 SC-1 a legitimate reference number for an early 60’s Constellation?

2) If yes, what if anything makes it different from 168.004 or 168.005, which according to Desmond’s list, both housed calibre 561 and both came in a full range of metal cases in the early 60’s?

3) Why does this particular Constellation have a stainless steel medallion on the case back while the others in my collection are gold colored?

@FL-Frank
14902 is the original case reference for a dogleg with a date complication.
In 63 Omega changed the ref to 168.005
168.004 is a different case type - known as a hidden crown Connie.
IIRC the 14381/14393 reference were the last to all have gold medallions.
After that only solid gold and gold cap cases had gold medallions.

Thank you very much!

Is mine a dogleg case? And, any idea what the SC-61 designates?
