    Hello everyone,

Recently I've stumbled upon this lovely vintage Cartier Tank that is powered by a quartz movement. I need some advices on whether it looks legit and how much it usually costs for one with condition like this? I've also noticed there are some black spots on the dial.

Thanks all! My wife has a similar quartz Must de Cartier tank. Sadly, we've been disappointed with the quality of the watch as the gold vermeil plating has come off in chunks, exposing the silver case underneath. She's not particularly tough on watches, so it was quite surprising that the gold would peel off.

With respect to the OP watch, I think you can do better as the watch itself is in quite poor condition with water damage to the dial and significant scratches and wear on the case. That particular dial design is fairly common for Must de Cartier, so you can find another without looking too long or too hard. My guess is that a good quality example (which this is not) would be in the US$ 1000 range. Perhaps a little more if it came with box and papers.

Thanks for the knowledge sharing! It's helpful and I appreciate that. The thing is that it costs only slightly around $200, which kind of makes sense for its condition. So I'm thinking whether it's worth spending extra money to get the dial fixed/cleaned (Not sure if that's possible).

As I recall these sold for about $215 new, the 'Must' line was a real moneymaker for Cartier. But these were just pieces of jewelry often worn by women so they got a lot of hard wear, banging around in jewelry boxes, on the wrist with bracelets, etc. They were never to last like a fine watch.

Not a fake, just poor condition. $200 is fairly cheap and reflects the damage to the case and dial. Personally, I'd look for one in better shape. But to each their own.
