Vintage Automatic Seamaster 471, Loud Rotor Noise On Tap

Hello,

I've just bought a vintage Omega, Seamaster with 471 movement. I've had it for a day now, and It keeps the time well. However, the rotor sound is quite loud, even when I tap very lightly. It doesn't sound as loud when I don't tap it.

I know the solution is not to tap it, but I want to make sure it is natural. I don't have a problem with it's being loud, as long as I'm not damaging the mechanism somehow.

Here is the video:

Here is the mechanism:

Does the mechanism look alright?

Also one more thing, after it's wind up fully, I can't turn the crown to wind it manually, not sure if it's right way to say it, but the tension is really high. Although I can still hear the rotor turn and wind the mechanism.

Thank you

Plenty of evidence that the rotor is worn and contacting both the movement and case back. That coupled with the winding difficulty, would tell you that the watch is in need of a service...

Thank you, you're right. The seller says it was serviced recently, but that's probably not true. I'm not able to send it to a watch repair for a while. Would I damage it more by wearing? Or is it alright, since it shows the time fine? Thanks

Unless the seller provides you proof of a service (not just their word) I would always count the cost of a service in the purchase price.

Most likely parts are wearing inside the movement, so you can wear it but it may end up costing you more money for the service...
