Private seller on FB marketplace. Asking 1k Aud (700 USD) 9K with 9K DS&S band.

I’ve attached photos below. Something I’ve noticed is that the De Ville series always has De Ville written in text on the face, or nothing at all. And from the pics attached you can see this has Quartz labeled, but nothing else. I’ve asked to see serial numbers.

Any help identifying the model, and its authenticity is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

It looks authentic, in my opinion. But this model (I suspect) is from the 1970s at a time when Omega was using a quartz movement with one of their “push-button” systems for use in re-setting the time on the watch. It was only in use for a very short time before they had such a ground swell of complaints from agents, retailers, owners, and watch repairers that they came to their senses, and re-designed the movement. As far as I am aware, parts for these movements are NLA, so if the watch requires repair, you have just bought a pile of scrap gold! I wouldn’t pay more than scrap prices for it, and take your chances that it still operates. You’ll need to know the weight of the watch without the movement, in order to know what to offer.

Thank you for the quick response! The closest I’ve found resembling this model is this eBay listing; which is for an 18k version and lacks the Quartz label, so I figured I was perhaps onto a good deal, but as you say, if it hasn’t got resell security value outside of the scrap gold then that’s not ideal. Thank you again!

Seems genuine but is literally worth the gold price.
