路Greetings all,
On offer today is my vintage Marvin chronograph from the 40s. This was acquired from @cristos71 earlier in the year, and serviced by @Mitka in April. My asking price is ($1200) now $900USD OBO including insured and tracked shipping worldwide from Australia. I accept PayPal via friends and family, and will do goods and services if you add 3%. Bank transfers are also welcomed. No refunds possible unless the watch is grossly misrepresented.
Case condition: The 32.8mm chrome plated case (35.1mm including crown) has light marks of wear from the front, and a fair few scratches on the sides all over. Overall the case is in honest condition, and looks great when combined with the fixed swivel lugs, which help give the watch a lug-to-lug width of 46.5mm. During service Mitka replaced the crystal and crown, which had lost it's plating, and the new crown is a much better match for the watch in my mind. The crystal has picked up a few marks during daily use, though is still very clear. Snapback stainless steel caseback has light swirls from use. The top pusher is more oxidised than the bottom one and was left as is during service.
Dial condition: The dial has aged to a nice patina, and is very legible. The telemeter scale does have some text loss, with the number 7, 15, 17, and 18 missing or slightly visible. The snail scale has minor ink loss. Overall the dial is still aesthetically pleasing, and the subdials are a delight to look at. All hands are blue steeled and original.
Movement: The 17 jewel Valjoux 23 movement is a classic two register column wheel chronograph, and has the Marvin moniker on the bridge. A tension clamp was added to the watch as the case was not initially secured. I have attached a picture of the movement and timegrapher readings from the service; I am open to opening the caseback for serious individuals.
Lugs and Strap: The fixed lugs are 17mm wide. The watch looks great on open end bands as well as one piece bands. I have attached some pictures from @cristos71's original listing and some of my own to show:
The watch will come on a one piece brown NATO style leather strap, which is a decent match.
I have plenty of references here on the forums as a buyer and seller, on the watchexhange reddit, and have 100% positive seller feedback on eBay. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me!
