Vintage 1940s Jaeger-lecoultre 8-day Triple Date Travel Alarm Clock

Up for sale is this beautiful and hard to find 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre 8-Day Triple Date Travel Alarm clock. This complicated travel clock features an in house 19 ligne JLC caliber 202 with date, day & month display, as well as alarm complication, all in a compact, portable package. The movement has been recently serviced by my watchmaker, including the installation of a new old stock 8-day mainspring, and is therefore guaranteed for 6-months of normal, non-abusive use.

Folded up, this scarce JLC clock measures approximately 4 3/4 inches long x 2 3/4 inches wide x 1 1/4 inches thick (about 12 cm long x 7cm wide x 3cm thick in new money). It is in all-original condition with a beautiful Near Mint factory printed salmon-colored Radium luminous dial and Mint blued "Cathedral" hands. There is oxidation and some marks to the copper plated clock case, Good condition, and the foldable embossed leather case is in likewise Good original condition with visible signs of wear and chips to the skin.
The fully serviced clock itself performs excellently with: semi-perpetual advance of the day, date and month (the only manual adjustment needed if you keep it wound is for 30-day months); perfect function of all 3 quickset apertures; accurate and long & loud alarm ring when fully wound; proper alarm setting via depressing the winder repeatedly to set the 3rd hand alarm pointer; time setting by pulling out the winder; and correct winding of the alarm via counterclockwise winding and the 8-day clock (give or take a few hours 😉) via clockwise winding. All in all, an incredible technically advanced 70 year old multifunction timepiece!
