I think I will give him another day to digest the Dan Henry and the Pulsar.... and then throw in the options above :0)
Thanks for the ideas.

Those get my vote so far. They're smaller than the one your friend chose, but that's a big plus for me. You got me looking at them now...

So this is why my wife didn't want me joining a forum dedicated to watches.

"You're just going to find other watches that are less expensive than your Omega that I still don't think you need"

This is one of those. Those Dan Henry's are sharp

I have seen Vincero’s utter bullshit advertizing on some social media platforms.
I mean, who hasn't seen their advertising on social media? They're everywhere. And not going to lie, I almost bought a few of their watches before I just decided I didn't want to jump down that rabbit hole of kickstarter brands.

But some of their watches do look nice.

If you want a driver and epic design guru you cant go wrong. Well actually we can its a quartz and hard to find. Even so i give you:
Seiko SCED057

Whist thinking racing we missed suggesting

I was afraid of my wife saying something similar. I put one in my shopping cart on the DH website, then found the exact model and color I had selected for sale on ebay for $80 cheaper. It's nice having a watch with vintage style (and size!) without worrying about water damage. I was reluctant to show it off too much around my wife at first, but as it turns out, I think it's the only one of my watches that she noticed on her own and complimented.

Ok failed again on budget but found some bike related items,
I'd suggest he does some research on Pilot or Team he follows.
Thinking about the sponsorships that F1 drivers and teams have IWC upwards.

Using motogp as an example Tissot has been a sponsor for 22 years
Other divisions Rallycross, F2, Paris-Dakar, Nascar, Speedway, Formular-E there is so much possible arenas to explore

This years motogb edition

It could be possible to get 2nd hand market for a limited edition i'm sure.

Congrats on your new Padawan apprentice.

Will he wear it as his beater?
Or will it be Sunday best?

IMHO a great field watch choice!!!
OCD might trigger on the 14 occurring twice on the watch. 😲
