very rare base 1000 bezel on the bay.......

I'm very far from an expert but, to my eyes, that thing is destroyed. I don't understand it. Sorry

IMO, these are the items who gonna suffer if the, supposedly existent, bubble bursts. Not the quality items.

You will need to sell both probably....
(In fact this forum strongly increased the kidney supply so price are falling 😀)

Maybe nowhere but that doesn't stop me to consider that 5k (perfectly reachable with more than one day to go) for that bezel it is an exaggeration even in bull market context.

Yes, it was sold by 10,5 k but my point is that this one, if there's a bubble and it bursts, will not loose so much value as the other. If worth the double now, will worth 4/5 times then

my guess was about the one on eBay... even in this condition, the price will be closer to 10 than 5...
Base 1000 are hot topic right now and price are going higher and gher, even in poor conditions...

A Base 1000 Bezel, in any condition, is in demand. These bezels were only made from 1959-61 and are absolutely necessary to correctly finish out 3 of the most collectible Speedmaster references (2915-3, 2998-1 and 2998-2). Many of these references lost their Base 1000s during service and today's owners want them replaced. Others potential buyers might purchase this bezel in an effort to build on of these early references. As the price of these references continues to rise, so do their seperate components.

I think that's a fair observation.

I have seen a few repaired/painted bezels and under the loupe it is obvious.

Of course they could just be done by incompetents and the ones you can't see.....

The trick is whit this bezels is they come in 2 different produced intervals.
