@gemini: Lovely collection you are hoarding there

Concerning the two base1000 bezel versions one has serifs in the writing and one almost not. And the dot over 90 is in different position

A Base 1000 Bezel, in any condition, is in demand. These bezels were only made from 1959-61 and are absolutely necessary to correctly finish out 3 of the most collectible Speedmaster references (2915-3, 2998-1 and 2998-2). Many of these references lost their Base 1000s during service and today's owners want them replaced. Others potential buyers might purchase this bezel in an effort to build on of these early references. As the price of these references continues to rise, so do their seperate components.
Everything you say is true, but still, something about 5k for this thing is obscene IM

With your watches you would get 3000 likes taking pics with a toothbrush 馃榾

$5000 for anything non essential is obscene - if I start to think about it.

Fortunately, like a group of drug addicts skulking in the corner, we all accept each other's warped sense of where is a right place to spend the money our wives don't know we have.

Maybe we need to have a whip round and buy @gemini4 a camera!

Not like you can sell the crack after you use it for a while 馃槈

At least that bezel will always be worth something. At least that's what I'd be telling myself if I just spent 10k on it.

I only wish it were easier to assemble a 2915-3. I've been searching many months for a proper wide oval O dial to replace the service dial on my 2915-3 pictured above. I'm still searching for that dial but very pleased this more correct version arrived today 馃榾. The base 1000 bezel is nice as well!

Very nice! Wondering where this one ended up
