That is a very emotional watch, I don't want to sell it. It belonged to my father, a wedding present from my grandmother to him. Making story short, he has a very difficult time, so the watch was not well maintained. Starting the thread, I don't know the model, it's 18k gold, and the crown has not omega symbol. it is not work properly now, I intend to fix it soon. I would appreciate any starting point. I would like to bring it as the day was given to him. Thanks beforehand. I'm in Canada, British Columbia.

There is an Omega logo on the inside of the back cover, is there a reference number?

Most likely, the case, like the bracelet, was made by a jeweler, as well as the crown; if there is no logo on the back cover, then there is no logo on the crown.

In Vancouver, the German Watchmaker (Yaletown), Roldorf and Co (Gastown) or Otto Friedl (downtown) are all highly recommended. Give it some thought though if you want it restored ($) to close to new looking, or serviced & sympathetically cleaned to keep the character and memories its developed

the question what is this model first.

There is no model name, if it is an Omega case there should be a reference number inside the case back.

I went to a jewelry to do some research. I expect to have the numbers soon. But I won't have the model. My second step is going to Omega Boutique to learn the model. I have some questions on what kind of services They offer. It's not clear.

my big question, is how the mint condition of this model looks like. The crown is puzzling me, at first. Second if I maintain "vintage" or put in mint conditions. My friends that are watch fans, told me to keep as is.

Your watch, your choice, but if it were me, I'd follow DaveK's suggestion because it has character and memories developed over the years your father owned it. I'd service and restore sympathetically. If you send to Omega, they'll take all the character and charm away and give you a shiny like-new watch back.

Whatever you decide, good luck with the project and let us know how it turns out!

i will update the forum, one way or another.

I called Otto frei don't service the 1950 omega watches. I will receive from the jewelry with more info in a pair of days.

No.

You need to go by the case and not the dial.

Take it to Norbert (The German Watchmaker). He'll be able to tell you everything about the watch although he doesn't have an Omega parts account.

The lugs look very thin (bent top right lug especially) so I'd suspect some case work is needed.
