Vintage watches aren't my forte, but I am curious about this movement. I believe it is is a Valjoux column wheel 2-pusher chronograph, I believe. Can anyone shed more light on this? What vintage, watches it may have appeared in, etc? Any suggestions appreciated!
Usually it is helpful to provide as much information as possible, including the dial side of the watch, the number and location of sub-dials, features/complications, branding, etc.
It looks similar to, but not the same as, a Valjoux 22 I have, but I'm no movement expert. Have you checked Ranfft? http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk Valjoux's start on page 209
It's not a V22. The V22 balance cock is very distinctive in shape with completely straight sides. In fact, I'm doubtful that it's a Valjoux at all, since they typically have odd number of pillars in the column wheel. Just to mention, I am tentatively going to put this in the 1940s.
It could be an older more obscure Valjoux movement, but it would take some research for me to figure it out. If you really need to know, I suggest posting in the WUS vintage forum. It would also help if you knew the diameter of the movement.
Not a Valjoux. Looks to be a Landeron Hahn. Maybe from the late 1930's. Valjoux 22GH from this period also has an even number of pillars (6). Here is a similar movement: https://www.lacasadellorologio.it/e...nte-originale-a-2-toni-calibro-landeron-hahn/
Well done. I actually googled Landeron-Hahn movements but didn't find that one. The Valjoux 22GH is a monopusher IIRC.
