The piggyback chronograph is typically a more costly service by a significant amount and this is the issue I have with the Speedmaster Reduced. The Speedmaster Date, Speedmaster MK40, Speedmaster Racing, all use different integrated chronographs and are less of a hassle as you can just get your local independent watchmaker to handle it.

The reduced costs exactly the same to service as a MK40, Racing, Reduced Date, Professional when you send it to Omega. As of 2022 independent watchmakers are not able to source new genuine parts from Omega. Nesbits is starting to turn down Omega services because of this now. This is false. I just ordered over $3,000 in brand new Omega parts directly from Omega seconds ago...

You’re not correcting nonsense, you’re missing the point entirely and misleading people.

The 775x base chronographs among others can be significantly more affordably handled by most independents which makes them less costly to keep running.

The piggyback movements are just avoided by many independents, they straight up tell you to take it to Omega, and that’s the issue, that in most cases the manufacturer service cost is unavoidable.
