Uncle Seiko, the 1170 bracelet is essentially the 1171 with more taper to slightly wider links at each end (where the bracelet meets the end links). How difficult is the design process for a change like that?

1170s aren’t made by Omega any more And the prices are ridiculous.

I posted a comparison to my 1171/633 that I got from the OB in January on WUS.

Short version, it is really good, but I couldn't quite get the fit right. The endlinks are superb, which makes the fact that Omega can't seem to sort these out even more baffling.

Have you ever try to swap the OEM 1171 clasp on the US 1171 bracelet? Does it fit? It would be good to know because I find the OEM 1171 clasp is still on a reasonable price. Thank you.

It won’t be reasonably priced after Omega gets wind of this...

Ordered the US1171 today and can't wait for it to arrive. Bought my speedy back 2012 and havn't worn the factory bracelet once. Loathe those shiny mid-links... Also had problems ordering a 1171 from my local AD.

Thank you Uncle Seiko for making this for us geeks!!

It works as long as the clasps are 16mm and the desired effect can be had more easily by just swapping the clasp covers over. These are both Uncle Seiko bracelets:

Any tips on filing the edge of the end links that touches the case?

I just got the US1711 and can feel some rough/jagged areas where it might touch the case.

I do have 600 and 800 grit sandpaper. Do I just sand up-down on the rough areas?

Thanks!

Any hollow endlink will have kind of rough/jag contact w/ the case, even w/ original vintage endlink, unless you protect the case by some tape like stuff.

I'm surprised to see some of you guys still managing to get 1171's with the older style clasp(nice deep recessed logo on clasp), these haven't been available in the UK for a good couple of years now. The modern ones come with a horrible almost flat lightly laser etched logo which looks crap for the money, it's stopped me buying any more.

I would use a small piece of the paper you have and just rub lengthwise along the sharp edge, this will tend to round it off, but take care not to allow the sand paper to make contact with the top polished surfaces of the end link.

regardless of this, any hollow end link will leave marks, but the extremely good fit of the US ones will minimise this.

Even if you do end up with some marks, they will not be visible, especially with the stock bracelet back in place and if you are really bothered by them, about 10 seconds with a section of Cape Code cloth will completely remove them.

just enjoy the US bracelet, they are so much better than the stock one in terms of comfort and aesthetics and matching the watch.
