Thank you for approving my membership. I recently decided to go through my late father's things and found his old Omega Seamaster. It still works fine and I was wondering if it's worth restoring more than selling. I did some research and although I found similar ones between 1962-1966 I could not find anything exactly like it. The only marking I can see is on the inside of the bracelet which says 7912. Can anyone help with identifying it? Thank you very much in advance!
It's the same model/reference as you vintage Seamaster 300's you've been seeing, but with a repainted dial. It's definitely worth restoring as these are collectible watches. However, if you're planning on selling it, you'd be better selling it as is.
Thank you all very much for your feedback and assistance! That's why I couldn't find the exact same one..
It's a collectible watch, and there may be someone out there with a better dial. The bracelet is also desirable. What number is on the back of the end-links?
I was assuming the second end-link had just fallen through between the lugs, but I guess you're right. Unfortunate.
If it's got sentimental value, you could keep it regardless. If not, you could look at sourcing a replacement dial off eBay (there's a slightly pricey one up now) /Chrono24?
