Same watch was listed on OF a while back. The dial must have been refinished a few years ago.

Has anyone seen a moonphase aperture like this before? link

if you look at the evolution of tri compax dials thread, you can see a lot of loose dial examples. There's a variety of moonphase apertures. This dial looks completely legit to me, but maybe it's not centered properly on the mvmt in terms of the red date hand post being centered in the moonphase aperture, and I also wonder if the red hand is factory? There's no straight on photos, so hard to evaluate red hand length, but maybe looks a bit short? Anyhow if it's not a factory hand, maybe the diameter of the base circle is slightly smaller than normal and not covering the moonphase aperture as expected? Whatever is going on, it's certainly weird looking at the moment.

There are much more of them unfortunately

Anyway: back to nice and correct watches. One of my hobbies is being the underbidder. This early 12551 - first series so with the protruded pushers - just sold for CHF 3.566 or EUR 3.800. Link: https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/montre-univesal-tricompax-chronographe-quantieme-or-750-1268177828/ Probably for sale at one of our trading friends for 6k in 3 months

6k? Make that 11k.... (and already sold) https://goldammer.me/collections/sold/products/universal-geneve-12551-tricompax-18k-rose-1940s

The Goldammer watch is in better condition. I wasn’t too surprised how quick the watch sold though.
Well it is the same watch ;-)

Those lugs look fragile though!
Correct but all original

Hands are relumed and case refinished. Tastefully done though, def looks much better after getting prepped for sale. I could swear the last case serial digit is a 5 on the Ricardo watch, and it’s a 6 on goldammer, but it’s def the same case, ( there’s a service mark or something scratched on the inside case back), must just be an optical illusion with the 5 vs 6, the Ricardo pics are not great.

I think these no space no dash tricompax dials are kinda cool

You're not alone. I thought that too.

It is a very interesting watch. Protruding pushers so clearly from the first batches but not from the first first batches.

BTW: I don't think they relumed the hands but recolored them see for instance the 'bend' in the hour hand

Me neither. Can't immediately fault it

Can’t fault it either, but the combination of the dial being in such pristine condition and the seller’s name always makes me a bit cautious.
