This is a bit of an enigma. Some clear UG DNA: case (very similar to 706x UG/Berthoud), hands, dial partly. However: no UG movement and caseback should have the same number as the lug. Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/395601622650

Similar dial style here:

and for the posted model @Mark020 the lug numbers and caseback numbers are the same (last 3 digits) if i see it correctly.
--> *972

this seems to be the first iterations of the case style - afaik these cases are also referred to 5347 cases in other watchbrands. (e.g. Vetta, Bovet)

They are very nice and have an impressive wristpresence.

Honestly I don't see relations with UG

It's a Valjoux22 movement - GP signed. Case is an hermetic case; it looks more like a Vetta Ermetico.

Moreover dial is not signed, so... strange watch. Maybe GP signature is faded on dial?

Ref 7067 (and the caseback is mismatched ;-))

Did some research on ref 7065, 7066 & 7067. All 38mm and 385 movement. I think the difference is in the bezel:

Thanks @Mark020 for the wrap up on those 38mm early UG cases - I see where you are coming from - posting your overview here again::

The similarity on the GP is the 7067 case reference - I would assume all these cases were used not only by UG but also by different brands - e,g, the Vetta Ermetico, Bovet etc. (5347 Reference).

Anyone generous enough to talk me out of at least a min bid on this one? Have seen it posted here in a few threads here. Been keeping my eye out for a wearable gold ~35mm.

The sharp HJ case has unfortunately been polished quite a bit, crown doesn't look correct, very skeptical of the pushers. There was quite a bit of discussion about this being a redial here. Based on this from Wind Vintage and this from OF sales forum I'm less concerned about the lack of concentric rings on the subdials but I am concerned about the outer scale.

As for the double signed dial, I went way down the rabbit hole on this one and would like to share some information that at least I found interesting but want to see the movement first (which the seller said he can't open the case, hmmm). If someone snags it please do share a movement photo!

Thoughts?

This one keeps popping back up, which makes you wonder. Is it getting returned or are they fake sales. I don’t remember the discussion about redial but the dial looks good to me. The case is not terrible not great. I agree crown looks replaced and the lower pusher looks like it’s been to hell and back. If it’s running and you don’t think you will get stuck with a big repair bill, I think it’s a nice watch at around the min bid.

Much appreciated! Redial discussion is linked (featuring you :)), no concerns about the outer scale leaking under the bezel? I have seen a few links to it for sale on eBay here, the last one I could find was 2022. I am considering writing some code to archive any link posted in the UG forums as they are all dead links now. Anybody know if the same seller has been posting? Claims its in good working condition. I did some digging, the alleged Dec 2021 service was from a home watch repair business in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the seller is also shipping out of Albuquerque. Watch has to pass through Stoll authenticators FWIW (little I would assume)

I don't remember the sellers in the past to know if it's changing hands. I don't have concerns about the dial. I wonder if the partial covering of the tachy scale is a function of the particular crystal and/or how the crystal is being lit for the photographs? If it's running and relatively recent service I think it's a solid watch, but then again I am a UG fanatic, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me ;)

check the chrono reset to make sure everything is zeroing out correctly. There's no example in the auction pics
