Was just casually browsing the different auction platforms and noticed this upcoming auction of a Film Compax (15 November). No pictures yet but based on the description it doesn't match those of the Fratello article.

The only Compressor case UG I was aware of is the Polerouter Sub and I can't see this being any use on the caseback. Any ideas?

This is a “service dial”. Made by UG but not original to the watch. Can be easily recognised by “Tri Compax” instead of “Tri-Compax” (no dash) and by the specific layout. It seems that only one graphic design of these service dials existed.
The original dial would have been something with an early 50s vibe. 😀

Fully agree, nothing wrong with that. It is an original UG produced dial. There is a whole thread on these dials ... it is a 60s service dial made for early tri compax references ...

I'm struggling to understand how you've come to consider this as one of the first wristwatches (is it the movement number?). I'm equally sceptical about it having UG rather than UW and my spidey sense errs far more likely in the direction of it being a franken. As for 1943...

Completely missed this one but too nice not to post. Auctioned in Q2 2023 in Brazil. Early Compur with sector dial. 37,5mm!
