Nice but, IMHO, it is absolutely not a 'Cloisonné' dial, it is just a painted dial that 'someone' did...

Here's the back of the dial. Certainly an enamel dial.
LE might be the initials of Elisabeth Perusset Lagger.

I think we're all in agreement; it is 100% enamel and also 100% not cloisonné.

From the description:
A Very Well Cared For & Completely Original Example
Beautifull Previously Restored Gold-Honey Dial and Double Register Chronograph
Oversize 32mm

What a joke. https://www.chrono24.nl/universalgenve/uni-compax-chronograph-cal283-18ct-1943--id29652118.htm

@Mark020 you are being mean towards the seller here. Looks like don't know those hand drawn dials are very much looked for 😁😁😁

That went for 15k EUR plus 31.2% auction fee ... Total of 19.680 Euro.

Not bad. Watch with a nice story though.

This interesting early compur dial was sold for EUR 25.50 (I forgot to bid 😡) Some nice details here a.o. the rail track on the left index https://www.ebay.nl/itm/285379839961

I succeeded to get this dial (although I don’t have any use for it at the moment).
The shipping fee (35€) was higher than the final price of the dial itself. But still, 60€ total is imho a good price for such a dial.

Always funny these 'professional' traders..... (and is it a campax, compax or compur?)
I quote:
The dial is most likely as original as possible, because you can not see on it ( background )( in high magnification ) any traces of restoration and only factory production created such an effect )
Indexes consistent with the technology of those years
When evaluating this watch you have to remember that the watch is about 80 years old

Close sibling - with original dial - here: https://www.invaluable.com/auction-...ined&queryID=32e0f1a626d238934ded808198961df4

Found (perhaps) another of these intruiging 11-12-1 dials: https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-1891936

And this one: https://www.hautetime.com/nine-exce...uding-bond-s-rolex-in-live-and-let-die/71084/ (may be the same watch btw)

Does somebody knows why the paint from UG and Hermès is different from the rest and is it common to place the minute hand on Hermès (Precisely on the rare double signature), and exactly on the 'è' so that we can't see if the accent is present ?

Interesting question. Either ignorance or they have something to hide. I am not overly convinced about the Hermes connection anyway

I think the paint is fine. It's quite common with galvanic gilt dials from this period that signatures were applied separately.

A very interesting thing to note, on this visibly original dial, is that UG indeed sometimes used a pointy 'A' and that the typography of the numbers was not always identical in the two counters...

This 22497 with never seen before dial just sold for USD 4.810 (with no shipping abroad). Really curious to see where this will show up. Epic piece. https://www.ebay.nl/itm/22567667029...KNu3zGZSeq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

this is why I love UG. Always new treasure to discover. I think everyone was watching this one. It went higher than I expected, but I think it’s worth it. Big congratulations to whom ever got it.
