Personally I think the printing on the 5160 is legit but the paint on the back could suggest it was touched up in spots.. or it could just be the way that dial is-- you'd need to examine it in hand I think to make the best judgement on how original it is or if some restoration was done.

I'd say that the design of the 2 dials is basically identical but the left one has been relumed (or better: lume was added). Another remarkable difference is obviously that the left one has compax printed. Also: the Universal Geneve print seems fatter on the left one. My conclusion is (based on n=2): legit

That 5160 black dial has the tell tale signs of a redial for what its worth. There was a photo of the back side-

Which signs are you referring to? Thank you

Referring to The black paint splotches on the back of the dial. The watch was piece meal sold as well so definitely parts were moved around already and it was fiddled. Another interesting thing is the COMPAX looks like a different color than all the other print. Still Ive seen enough ug to understand there's tolerances but on this one I would need to see the dial in hand to confirm the black paint on the back wasnt remnant at some point used to cover shit up on the front..

This is a gilt dial, not a printed one. If you do a search here, you will find a thread where @mac_omega explains how these dials where made.
The only printing on the dial is the brand name and the specific model name Compax. That's why the colors differ.

Imho, the back of the dial is just fine. There are no signs of a redial. Usually, redialers scratch some numbers on the back to distinguish the dials.

A pic for illustration from a different brand:

You can clearly see the gilt dial where the numerals etc. are flat and the Minerva scripting that was printed on top with color paint.

Btw. gilt dials usually last very long.

Yup this is exactly my point. a gilt dial...Why does it have black paint on the back? Could they have tried to cover up scratches or touching up parts on the dial where the suface has been marred? All Im saying is for me- I would have to hold it hand to spend the money. It could be a nice original gilt dial with paint left over from origin. But it it could also have been touched up by someone at some point. Photos arent enough for me personally-especially coming in the condition it sold as- pieced up and disassembled in parts..

Now on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225526346900 Absolutely interesting watch but CHF 14.5k is bollocks for a 33mm watch even with a step case and black dial. Interesting detail is the (part) serial on the lug
