looks franken and redial. I don't recognize the case and they don't provide any photos that show a case ref, serial, or UG logo stamping anywhere. Cal 263 second hands of this type do not usually have a tail. If I had to guess I would say it's a UG mvmt and dial, that was reprinted, put into another case, and the second hand replaced, the H/M hands relumed.

this is a redial, and as such, has quite limited value, only for parts
That was fast. Clearly my eyes need a lot of training ...
Out of curiosity, what's the main thing that tells you this is a redial? Are you basically looking for anomalies in the font and other markers? I can tell some of the numbers look handwritten (like 45) or -RS in UNIVERSAL. Or is there something else?

I'm not the best at spotting redials, but left and top subdials look off center and R and S of Universal look wrong too.

learning to evaluate dials just takes practice and time, like anything else. On the scale, this redial is very very far towards the obvious redial, so if this is hard to spot for you, it's definitely important to keep training your eyes before you make a purchase. Once you have spent hundreds of hours looking at thousands of dials, you can look at this dial and in less than a second (literally), it will be obvious, without even having to think about it, or compare fonts, etc. I'm not trying to sound like an a&*hole, I hope that is clear.
maybe one of the most obvious things is that it only says Universal, and "Geneve" is missing, or maybe that "Tri Compax" is missing, but there are dozens of other glaring problems with the dial. Rather than list them all out, which would take a long time, I think you would train your eyes better to find an original dial in this same reference, and make a list yourself of everything you see that is wrong/different. In the process you will end up studying the dial in great detail and I think retain more information. It should be kind of fun research also !

This could not be more true and I'll vouch for him (as if he needs it from me) not just being an a-hole. When I started looked at these (maybe a year ago?) I barely knew which direction the hands go. I didn't want to jump to a conclusion, so I sat and looked at this one for a few seconds, just to be sure, before scrolling down to see that I got the right answer. Hang in there, you'll get it too.

Hello everyone. Got a bi compax on the way currently but I was wondering if anyone knew if the dial on this watch is a reprint or if it could be original? Thank.

It could be original- looks it but closer/better pics would help.

Could've also been cleaned at some point with the way the tachy / sub dial printing has faded.

My wife’s little UG collection I’ve “forced” on her. It’s interesting though I haven’t seen a UG watch with a white and yellow gold case. just Thought I’d share on here.
