I considered the newer version for a while. The movement is actually a Lemania 1873 hand wind.

Ended up getting more vintage Omegas instead :).

You have a point there citizenrich ... I asked a local service center here and they said they cannot comment without actually seeing the watch. They say in some cases it would not be feasible as the weld would not last. Most probably what happened to the 4th Lug!

This thread will continue as it always had but the recommendations here once accepted will be added to the Omegaforums Recommended Auctions page:

    http://omegaforums.net/auctions/

It'll be accessible from the top level nav by clicking on the hammer symbol. This is going to be expanded further in the future and act as testing bed for some future auction related projects we're currently working on.

I was hoping to keep that one under the radar.

Oh well, the cat's out of the bag now!

I think it was going to be hard to keep under the radar, a lot of us have Alex from Mexico saved as a favourite seller and get the alerts :)

But the dial has been redone. Not a particularly good job, either.

Steel cases with broken lugs can be fixed. They can be micro-welded back on with silver. Just as strong and invisible once polished. I have a contact in the UK should you need some work doing. He specializes in fixing and restoring old/vintage watch cases ...

At $1875 already, the cat's been out of the bag long enough to eat a few house plants and knock stuff off the top of the refrigerator. :p
