Sent a PM to the seller and being told he will resume the bidding as soon as he returns from out of town. Is this solid? Thanks for the advice.

Is this a ref 124103 (number on caseback)?
As said above, I don't think the watch is good because the printing on the dial looks quite suspicious:
- UNI-Compax is not centered.
- Rounded 3s in the subdials
- Particularly the right dial seems to be a bit off centered.
- The font is too thick imho.

By the way, your link shows a different watch than your pics.

I think ppl were commenting on the pics, not the link, which is, as you say............junk

Pics ppl commented on were the gold uni ... not the POS in the link.

Chrono is a later replacement hand. H/M hands are mixed, Service Moon disc., plated case in good shape..Dial not great....

Morning Larry. Would you recommend on buying this watch? Is it a solid UG tri-compax?

I've been eyeing this one for a while, but can't help but feel that there's something off.

The ink on the subdials looks too "thick" and the shape of the A in both Universal and Compax worries me.
Also, according to Sala for this reference (12552), the tachymetre scale shouldn't be blue.

I would be inclined to think that this is a redial, but I'm terrible at identifying them if not obvious.

depends on what you mean by awesome deal I guess. it's a plated case, tired dial, some issues with the hands, etc etc

if you love it and it's really cheap..........?

So yea you can spend a grand or two on this watch. Then you can hang out here, learn more and have your buyers remorse grow and grow. I counsel patience ...

First time ever seeing that dial layout and colour scheme! It looks marvelous. 7500 Euros though...

Same here. Uncommon to see the larger sized gold Jeanneret case on a Uni-Compax looking this nice (before you even get into that amazing dial). Big money, though.
