Well spotted - I had seen that listing but it takes sharp eyes to pick up on the crystal bit.

Yes ...

Apart from the obvious, it is missing the second overdrive, second runner, pinion, spring and bridge. Third wheel may be damaged (overdrive pinion looks too short) ... those parts are a pain to source. On a positive note, the balance wheel looks good!

I didn鈥檛 even bother going all the way to the movement. Yikes that thing had one too many drinks.

Something is off with this watch. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Universal-G...370110?hash=item1eef36e13e:g:TFgAAOSwVYhb8~vE

Looks like the Universal Geneve is written on the crystal? Not just that but that's what is bothering me.

I think it's under the crystal. It actually kinda reminds me of those optical illusions where you can see something 2 ways, because I can also sorta see it on top.

What's the text on the bottom supposed to say?

That's right and yes, I did buy it.

Difficult to value. I definitely think it is one of the rarer bumper references but rarity doesn't always equate to value.

I bought it for my collection because it is unusual but also because I thought it was attractive and the case looks sharp too. My hope of getting a bargain went out of the window in the last few seconds of bidding but I'm still very pleased.

I must stop talking about watches before I receive them - I've probably completely jinxed myself now.

A bit late to this post, but in hindsight it looks like a steal.
20217-9 seems to be an extremely rare reference (so far...), with only 2 (including this one) listed in the database.
There is also an original advertisement on it with a cutout ive attached, that reads "20217-9, Black center, gold markers on double(dark?) gray marker ring". That inner bezel in itself seems unique to this reference, and the condition looks fantastic for a bumper, let alone a rare reference like this. Congrats! (y)

Thanks, I was really pleased when it arrived as condition is terrific.

Slightly less of a steal once I'd paid the import costs and for a service but still chuffed with a rare find.

I'll post a picture or two once I retrieve from the watchmaker and, of course, send you a pic for the reference guide.

UG Coke anyone.....

I think the case and movement are probably correct. Another similar watch pictured below. Different hands on the coke watch but they match the hour markers.

Are you thinking the Coke logo is much later and not correct? I honestly don't know.
