One last questions for everyone. If seller won’t accept cancelling... how expensive will it be to get an original dial?

You can't just order one up. You have to find one, and there is a huge range in how much it might cost, if/when you find one.
I think all 5 hands are wrong on this watch. And the crown is yellow gold instead of rose gold.
The only good thing is you "only" paid 1K, and there is a box. I could easily see someone inexperienced paying a few grand for this watch, without a box. I hope you can return it. Trying to find all 5 hands plus a dial and crown is not worth it financially.

Damn. Any chance you can tell me how you guys can tell?

The font of UNIVERSAL GENEVE is very bad. The subdials are also obvious. The edges should be sharp, but you can see they have been smoothed over by the over-layer of paint. And look how the painted subdial markers creep up out of the depressed area and climb up the walls.

Also, the tachy scale is obviously misaligned in some places, e.g. 80kph and 90kph.

This is all some great info. Noob tax has been paid... Really will need a correct rose gold Uni-Compax soon!

Well I guess my lesson is learned. I paid about 1k for it, which I would assume is way too much.

How hard is it to source and original dial for one of these?

Was anyone able to grab the exotic dial Compax on eBay? It disappeared pretty quickly.

Any thoughts on this watch? I’m pretty new to this UG watch game.
Owner said it’s a redial. Would it be easy to get an original dial?

Crown and hands also wrong. You won’t be happy with it. Move on. Someone needing parts will buy this. Very difficult to find parts.

now now, be nice to my poor little redial. I'm not sure the hands are wrong (maybe the sweep?) I think someone just painted them all white when they did the redial? I was guessing they were silver and probably oxidized, and the dial must have been shot, so they did the gilt redial and the white hands? If I found an original dial I was thinking of having the hands properly refinished.

Getting an original dial is not easy, but not impossible with patience. I have two other compurs of this time period, so decided to pass this project along to someone else. The one nice part is that you can actually wear it while you look, instead of having it sit in a parts drawer. 😀

Ha .... that explains the very honest sales copy. Sweep might be a later hand like the one on my 62 Tri. I do agree the case is really amazing and that it’s a good looking piece.

thx. I'm curious what it goes for, I tried something new on this auction which was to make it available worldwide, with free shipping. hopefully I don't regret it !!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it is only available in the US! You excluded Africa, Asia, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America (so not sure if you even ship to the US...) , Oceania, Southeast Asia, South America.

lol wut ? I went over the shipping thing a ton of times, there must be a really glitchy system with ebay because I specifically included all those locations. I wonder if it displays differently for different users in different locations? Weird....
