Hi everybody! I am kind of new in the field, and I appreciate experts' advice. I love polerouters, and I have an idea of their market price. Monodatic somewhat interests me as well, but I really don't know how to give them a value.
They ask 650 euros for this, which seems expensive, given that I've seen a fantastic guilloche version in this site for less than double.

What do you think is a fair value?
I am not a big fan of single picture listings and I think more pictures are needed before committing.

When you mention guilloche dial do you mean like this?

I agree, I asked a few more pictures and the guy sent me something more, but just of the exterior. No mechanism, because, he said, he did not have the equipment to open it.
Actually the guilloche dial I had in mind was this

Thanks for bringing this other one up. I did not see it, obviously my ebay search filters are not optimal...
As I told you, I am no expert, but in this one there are a few things that puzzle me. Please tell me if I am wrong.

I see the absence of the "U" logo, the "universal" which looks not really fitting the rectangle (actually not even a rectangle more a trapezoid) in which it is written and the date, which since it is odd should be red (the monodatic has the roulette date, right)?

I am pretty sure this one is legit. The Universal font is good and although it may be off center a little, this doesn't strike me as a redial. From what I understand redialing waffle dials is a though job. Here we se that both the Geneve and the Monodatic are correct.

I have seen a few other examples similar/identical to this model. I remember that the date was black but can't recal if it was an odd or even number.

Any concerns with this one? Not the best pictures because of the réflexion in the crystal...

Is the bezel insert correct? Others I've seen with this case reference and dial have just had plain polished bezels.
The crown may be a replacement as I suspect the original would have been signed. The seconds hand looks to be right shape but I've not seen a silver one before, others have been blued steel as per the sub-dial hands.

I have a very limited knowledge of chronographes. Out of my price range and too big for my wrist. I just thought I would bring it to your attention in case someone might want it.

It's always a pleasure to learn. Thanks for your comments.

It is a 222100-2 dial and movement, re-cased in an 881101 case. I think it qualifies as a franken. Nice as a project but difficult to justify at that price. I would struggle to pay that much for something that may never be brought back to its original look ...

Even if you would accept the idea of a franken, seeing 2 tachymètres on the same watch is bothering me....

I didn't even notice, but very true. And I guess that the one I linked to is not missing the bezel.

Concept of a second tachy is elementary and easily explained. The second bezel is used to confirm the readings on first bezel.
