·Universal Geneve Polerouter 20214-4 / PolArouter transitional, gold capped with stunning black dial.
Polarouter case with serial that starts at 1683' which means produced 1954-1955.
H.F stamped (Huguenin Freres) caseback. Bombe lugs, 35.5mm and 19mm lug width. 6-key caseback, characteristic of a Polarouter.
These gold capped cases have very thick gold layer (300 microns) and you will not see any wear.
Overall good condition with sharp bevels intact, a dent at the side of bottom right lug. Reference and serial number is visable by eye but hard to catch with camera, unsigned crown.
Stunning glossy black dial with crosshair and applied gold logo. Dauphine hands with original lume and lume plots.
Cal 138SS ‘bumper’ movement which is running strong and keeping time, no known service history.
Comes on a vintage goldplated mesh (seen on the pictures) which suits the watch very good IMO!
