comparing the two most recent Mk 2 watches on this site that the designs of the second hand dial differ notably
The first one is a Mk I.

The Mark 2 running seconds subdial hand does seem longer compared to a Mark 1.
Here they are side by side. Mark 1 on the left has a slightly shorter hand, whereas the Mark seconds hand runs into the subdial chapter/minutes ring.

Subtle, but you can see it.

And here is the Mk II that I got from @Scarecrow Boat recently. While I did not know about this watch or the history prior to seeing his listing, I quickly got sucked in. Happy I did and was able to get a great example.

Love it! I am sure you will too.

I saw one at the GTG and now I need one. I have to scroll this post to make sure I know what I'm getting into. But this may very well be my next watch purchase. Thanks!

Thank you for the vote of assistance. I will do that. I have an eye on a couple on fleabay -- I'd always rather buy here but nothing is around, better for me anyway. Prices are all over and condition is too -- $1900 for one that's cracked and broken but listed as "no marks on the dial"? Yeahok.

If you're patient enough you should be able to snatch one for $350-450 from eBay (which is reasonable in my view). They sometimes pop up on C24 for reasonable prices as well. Most common issues IMHO are a flaky dial, wrong crown and an overpolished case. Happy hunting 👍

Yeah, some terrible dials out there selling for an unreasonable premium in my eyes ... wrong crowns seem to be the norm for those out there as well. Thanks for the price range too. Appreciate it.

Gorgeous pair.

I see one that looks fairly decent on c24 in bulgaria ... listed with a UG, but non-original crown.

Those numerals look flat instead of raised. Are there any images at an angle to confirm this? The case also looks like it may have been polished- the case edge looks soft.

edit to add- the crown has the shape of an original one but there is something weird going on with it. It looks like someone cut a logo shield shape into it(?). The numerals have a slight raised definition but they still look flat at an angle. More flat than mine did at the same angle. It has been polished- like it has been cleaned up for the sale.

I see that now and how sharp and deep your look even from straight on. Maybe I will ask for some better pics of the dial, could be blown out contrast. Yeah, the polishing looks a bit much for me.

The crown, I don't know what to say about it, but I do see that it looks cutout! I wonder what model it could be from, if it's real.

I'd take a swerve based on the crown and case. Price is way too high anyway.

Yes, I was pretty sure I was walking away, but I did ask for a better dial picture and more info on the oddball crown.

Hate you guys ... I have this pair coming from the homeland in January. Thanks to @vujen for another quality find. You guys said they didn't come up often, let alone a 2-fer ... yeah, it had to be done. @BlackTalon, this is ALL your fault for wearing that one to the GTG.

Congrats -- looks like a nice set 😀. I had to keep an eye out for a year or so to find a mk1.

I did NOT expect these so quickly. I can only credit the guy who found them for me. 😁 The cards aligned just right in this case. I'm sure the universe will make me pay for it somehow.
