Dear all,

This year has started with a few too many acquisitions which means it is time to make room in the watch box.

UG Compax ref 52217 in 14k gold with tear drop lugs, gold leaf hands, and a cal 283 movement. The case is approx 34mm without crown and has an interesting case back engraving from 1951. The star here is undoubtedly the case, and specifically, those beautiful tear drop lugs. The watch was serviced by my watchmaker this past year and everything functions as expected.

Highlights:
- All original with the exception of the crystal and strap
- Attractive 14k case with unique tear drop lugs
- Gold leaf hour and minute hands, blued steel sweep second and subdial hands
- Triple signed Universal Geneve on the dial, inside case back and movement
- Interesting engraving on the back, most likely a gift given to Kip Good for his solo director performance at the Metropolitan Opera in 1951
- Serviced in 2018

Lowlights:
- The case has a few small dents owing to the softness of the 14k case. Some oxidation on the case also visible

More details:
Year: 1946
Case: Original, approx 34mm, 40mm lug to lug, 14k gold
Dial: Original
Hands: Original
Crown: Original
Movement: Original, cal 283 manual wind, keeping time and all functions work as expected
Strap: Your choice of brown or tan strap seen in the pictures

Pictures:

I’m asking $2,250 (originally $2495) USD OBRO net to me which will also include 2 day insured shipping within CONUS. Other countries at cost. Paypal, Venmo, Transferwise or bank wire only.

Watch and I are in the US and I can ship worldwide (with some exceptions). No returns please.

Plenty of references available upon request. Thanks!

I'm surprised no sale, I always thought OF
Private Watch sales was really good. I've listed a very nice 14k Uni-Compax with little interest as well. People would rather pay more at auction than purchasing directly from the collectors !
Makes no sense ???

To be honest I'm surprised as well. Both are nice, original pieces being offered at what I consider to be under-market prices.
