Hello All.

I’m a proud owner of a Polerouter super and wondered if anyone had experience having the original Gay Freres ricegrain bracelet or any GF bracelet repinned. I’m not having a lot of luck finding someone to do it and mine has a fair bit of stretch.

Hello!

First of all, I hope you are all well.

I came across this website by a very dear friend from Brazil. I have seen some discussions and I was absolutely blown away by the content.

Thus, what I am doing right now, by this message, is contacting you as a real last hope in my long journey to obtain information about a wristwatch I bought about 2 years ago.

This is a Universal Geneve which has a square case and Breguet numerals, Cal.264, from approximately the 1940s. Inside the caseback, there is no information, not even a serial number.

Please, could you help me to obtain some information about that?

In time, I take the liberty of sending you some images of this piece.

This is not the right thread to ask this but to answer your question. The caseback is definetely not correct so it may be recased. Furthermore the dial is most likely redone.

I am sorry, buddy; I am very new to this. I already suspected that the caseback was not the same as the case, but I am almost certain that the dial is not redone; my trusted watchmaker thinks the same.

Is it true that Buler had the first patent on the microrotor and ug carved patent pending on their first microrotors?
Google isn't going to give me more accurate info than this site

I recently came across this documentation during my research about the Universal Genève "Ideo," which was later called the "Cabriolet."

An article from the Journal Suisse d'Horlogerie on the opening of the new Martel factory in 1941:

Recently emailed UG regarding a part that I needed for a 1940s Tri-compax and they replied asking I send in the watch for an overhaul. I was surprised and specifically asked if they were servicing older watches, and they replied “of course”…. Thoughts?
