·Thank you for the space, OF.
I rarely sell watches out of my collection but this is a catch and release that has to go before I get too attached, to fund a new incoming.
I believe this reference, 2748, was Omega's first iteration of the Geneve. Serial of 14.1 mil puts it around 1954. This is a fairly uncommon reference and doesn't come up for sale very often.
Case: 36mm excluding crown, almost 38mm with. 19mm lug width. Stainless steel composition. Has been polished in the past but not excessively so and evidence of bevelled edges are still visible. There are some scratch marks on the back from some dolt attempting to open it. Overall in decent condition.
Crystal: Omega w/etched Omega symbol present.
Dial: Original textured dial with 18k pink gold hands and applied indexes. Two-tone with crosshairs. The Geneve script, crosshairs and minute ticks are fading with age but are still visible. "Swiss Made" has faded entirely.
Movement: Caliber 266, serial 14.1mil. I have documentation from the previous owner showing a service in March of this year (2018). This will be provided. In my possession it has been running very well, about +10sec/day. The movement picture provided is pre-service; I have not opened the watch myself.
Crown: Not sure on this one. It's an authentic Omega crown but not sure if it's vintage and period-correct. Edit: After some additional research I believe this to be an original correct crown.
Strap: non-Omega, Fortis brand provided with watch.
Because of the uncommon nature of this one I'm asking $1,000US. Further REDUCED TO $750! Shipping in CONUS provided gratis. International shipping/customs costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. PayPal preferred, will accept Friends/Family from well-established forum members only. Otherwise add 3%. Bank wires considered. Please ask for references. I only have a couple sales on OF but my buyers have been happy. 100% positive Ebay seller since 2000. There will be no returns on this unless grossly misdescribed so please ask questions before committing. Thank you.
