Today i visited local AD , im a big client for them ( probably more tahn 10-15 watches bought from them in the last 3-4years.)
Before i got -20% discount of every watch i like to get, now they tell me that the max they can make is 10% and if there is a new client the discount is 0% from omega . They also tell me that its partly omega thing that they lower the discount and also omega is droping production by more than 30% .
What do you think guys ? Are they trying to do that Rolex thing ?

Managed to snag a Speedmaster 57 on bracelet here in the UK yesterday for £4250 and 0% For 4 years.
Never bought on finance before but was just trying to see how much I could take the p**s.
I’m lucky to have no mortgage or loan so this was a way of keeping something on my credit file that is current.
Couldn’t be happier, just waiting for it to arrive, final cherry on top free delivery.
Maybe the master co-axial movement will arrive in this model next year but great spec watch at a killer price.
Hope I like the butterfly clasp.

Rolex marketing dept must die a little bit inside every time a rapper comes out with bilge like ^

I must admit if I am ever wearing a Rolex at home and see rubbish like this, or pretend gangstas in town with them I’ll always switch straight to an Omega the minute I can and it’s often weeks before I put on another Rolex

I'm certain Omega are trying to emulate the Rolex thing.

Pricing is leveling up and the're introducing more models such as the Apollo 8 DSOTM or the 321 with a limited production rather than as a limited edition. This creates the availability/waiting list factor which may impact on the grey markup.

Personally, I believe the Omega vs. Rolex discussion has gone on long enough, products can be argued for and against. This is Omega testing the waters re: supply and demand but they still have a way to go to re: branding.

Now, can I afford the standard 1861 Moonwatch before the increase 🫨

sadly the finances don’t support it until later this year. Although there’s always the possibility I might have yet another consolidation exercise! Stranger things have happened in my watch box. Ha

Surely they do! Mine is playing the same tricks. He tried even binding purchase of Apollo XI with any other watch at same value. Anyhow that Ass piece wasn’t much of my taste so I made a pass. It is either a policy of individual retailers trying to survive amidst of crisis, or perhaps some marketing teaching centralised and made on behalf of Omega. What else they might be teaching them at, a part of go and investigate what your local Rolex competitor does?

When I looked this morning (26/7) Goldsmiths in the UK are offering 0% finance on Omega watches. So if you want to put down a good deposit and then clear the balance without incurring any interest cost this might be a place to head for.

You are indeed. If this were my wife’s forum she would ban you. I personally think it’s great idea though! You’ve prompted me to just advertise my SMP to sell to soften the blow. We shall see...

Goldsmiths is an AD right?

Yep. All the major brick and mortar stores in the UK will offer 0% for most if not all their luxury watch and jewellery range.

Rolex is a big no no for 0% finance, don't know of any UK shop offering this type of a finance on the mighty crown, most AD's will only state 'Contact us' for Rolex, AP, VC, and PP.

Checked some websites this morning (27/7) and 0% on Omega is still available. So potentially a good way of getting your new watch pre price increase, just need your deposit usually min 10%.

Maybe these days due to shortage? However, a few years back I know a few colleagues who picked up Steel versions for finance around London city, maybe even Canary Wharf. Not sure which store though.

Ernest Jones have the Omega Moonwatch Moonphase Chronograph (304.23.44.52.06.001) in steel and yellow gold on a leather strap for £6,460. Not too shabby from the current £10,870.00 RRP.

that is a great deal for a very nice looking watch, if I had been living in GB that would be a no brainer for me.
