Because we have ‘first past the post’ rather than PR the Conservative party got many more seats despite polling less than 50% of the votes and Johnson was chosen as leader by approximately 200,000 paid up Conservative party members given the option of two candidates.
Everyone knew his character traits and limitations and the present outcome was entirely predictable

·The no politics thing is mainly US politics, UK threads don’t tend to get that heated as the British don’t tend to take any of it that personally or get emotional about it.

·I hope things work out for the British population. I turned apolitical when I got egged sitting in church by some girls dressed in handmaidens tales outfits. I guess they blamed us for the Supreme Court decision. I had to go and watch some handmaidens takes episodes on Hulu as I was unfamiliar with it. I stayed and helped clean up the mess but I just don’t get the whole political scene I wish who ever is in office well and if they don’t do well just vote or stay quiet it seems religion is a safer topic these days. Well maybe not considering I got egged in church.

·The government that governs least, governs best. It is amazing how little effect politicians have on our lives...but when they do have an effect, they really screw it up.
