Hi OF, I have always been fascinated by the UG moonphase. Not too many around in SS. And the few I found are repainted. Found this one but I don’t know if it’s all original. My observations: the day and month windows both show ‘Mar’. The letters in the day window seem repainted. Movement pic doesn’t look like the other movements I have seen. I am not an expert just general observations. Hoping for more experienced views. Minute hand is missing the lume but is it a replacement? Reference number 22258 cal 481.
Looks nice except for the missing lume on the hand and the weathered moon disc. Hand is not a replacement. The dial is original but a service dial according to this thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ug-...dial-referece-guide-read-entire-thread.48137/
Pretty clean Watch with an originál Moon ... There is that pesky arrow tail chrono hand again. I’ve seen enough of these to assume this was a UG part. Worth a shot if price is right.
Seems like the watch is legit and worth getting. How much of an issue is the missing lume on the min hand?
It is weathered but very nice. I would not have a problem with it. Lume is easily replaced. There is a chap in the north that works wonders with lume and has or can mix most shades of vintage lumes retaining the original short glow qualities. Well worth a punt !
Also is the seconds hand genuine? I have looked at several examples and the counterbalance on the seconds hand is different to the one pictured above.
it seems so. If you buy it, a serice is highly recommended. May be it's just me, but I think that >6200 Euros for a 34.5mm Tri is a bit on the high side.
Totally unrealistic...hands need relume, moon is there but in rough shape, later chrono hand. 4500 .. 5500 USD at best. Watch will also need a service.....
