Looks like we're going to have to put the case back under the electron microscope. Or an x-ray magnetic interferometer (??) like they have at NCIS that can read polished off serial numbers. ;-)

Received this from the very knowledgeable billving. Looks like mystery solved:

"The model number is 481101 / 02

The 481101 is the reference for that 14k good case

The 02 is that model. Dial, etc."

Thanks for the complement but I am clearly an amateur period, and especially compared to many on this forum. I happen to know this one well because I own one and did the research. There are many people on this board that are more then willing to extend their incredible knowledge.

It's really amazing what they know AND what they are willing to share to help point people in the right direction.

Suggest adding ref # to Thread Title so it can be easily searched.

Watch is back from ABC in LA and they did a great job. "Complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleansing, lubrication with factory specified compounds, calibration, mainspring replacement, any and all necessary gaskets and pressure test."

No polishing but a good and careful cleaning of the dial and case. There was a little bit of "dust" on the dial which has been carefully removed. Really amazing the shape this watch is in after all these years.

I have decided I am going to sell it. Not sure if this is the correct place on the forum to conduct a sale or if there is a formal forum area for sales. Let me know what is the appropriate way to sell this beauty here.

i think you need to establish your self as a member here before you can post a FS post (200 posts), alternatively you can contact the admins and they can do a case by case decision

Contacted one of the admins last Friday regarding selling the UG on this forum. Have not heard back.

Any suggestions as to a good place to sell it? Anyone have experience with Chrono24?

Thanks.
