Anyone has a lead on a vintage signed JLC buckle? I've been looking for a nice buckle for my watch because I wasn't sure if mine is original JLC, though it's legit vintage solid gold. But then I came across this listing,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JAEGER-LECOULTRE-VINTAGE-CAL-P450-4C-WATCH-P450-4C-35MM-COM498-/321980120074?nma=true&si=HrqYiSXrL4P6UWh4eNCfqk3%2FCBE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I'm not exactly sure if that whole set is good or seems put together, but that buckle looks identical to mine with the same AW maker. I'm a bit pedantic with buckle so any help would be greatly appreciated 馃槜

So many amazing watches in this thread. Congrats Dre on the Jaeger. That black dial from LouS
Is also a stunner. Sometimes I feel like the kid that came late to the party and all the good toys are taken. Lol.

I bought this a few years ago and have been looking for an original dial (and hands) ever since. Anyone out there got one?

My contribution to UG at Heart
Ref 22462 in SS, about 36mm.

Some stamped with a "M" and some not. Any speculation on this point? Could it have been produced just prior to UG taking total control of the output of these movements from Martel?

After what year did all movements get stamped with a serial number? Is there a clear transition point? Is this point pre or post UG control?

My watchmaker was able to easily regulate the accuracy at just about dead center.

AFAIK, "M" on the movement designates a non-gold watch exported to France. Were the ones you've seen without M in steel cases?

Saw this today. never seen one like it.
Had one just like it and sold it to a forum member years ago, for some reason the GP Tricompax dials are always dark , not sure why ?

Hi OF,

Just want to share my latest acquisition, the only brand that isn't UG from my latest incomings, but still a UG at heart 馃槈 We all know that UG made watches for GP, Eberhard, Zenith, Jaeger, and VC.

But finding one itself is hard, let alone finding one in a good conditon. I personally only ever acquired a GP with the UG cal 281 in mint condition, and have never had another chance to purchase another brands with the UG movement in the at least the same or better condition.

Out of all places, it came from Uruguay. I know, South America. Initially, I was skeptical. But after talking to the seller, who was asking the world on the price, he convinced me by his resistance in negotiating the price. He also told me that he will only ship via fully insured Fedex Express, hence the full customs value.

I was still a bit unsure at the time since I have never purchased watches from South America, I've only heard the horror stories. And with the full customs value, I know that I will have to pay a lot more money for the watch that's already quite expensive as it is. But I've been wanting either Zenith, Jaeger or VC by UG for a while, and at the end, I wasn't sure if I ever come across another in this condition, so I took the chance.

And without further ado,

I believe this is based on the UG cal 285 that has a restyled bridge, while the rest of the movement is unaltered.

The 35mm case is perfect, as I've been avoiding anything less than 34mm lately. Unpolished case, with original finish and hallmark that are still visible.

I'm not sure whether or not the buckle is genuine JLC or even period correct because it's not signed on the outside, but I know for sure that it's an original AW vintage solid gold buckle. Please let me know if anyone has some information about the buckle.

If you have any other watches with UG at heart, please share it here 馃榾 Here is the GP with UG cal 281 that I acquired last year,

Hope you enjoy the thread.

Thanks heaps

Andre
