    Hi OF,

Just want to share my latest acquisition, the only brand that isn't UG from my latest incomings, but still a UG at heart ;) We all know that UG made watches for GP, Eberhard, Zenith, Jaeger, and VC.

But finding one itself is hard, let alone finding one in a good conditon. I personally only ever acquired a GP with the UG cal 281 in mint condition, and have never had another chance to purchase another brands with the UG movement in the at least the same or better condition.

Out of all places, it came from Uruguay. I know, South America. Initially, I was skeptical. But after talking to the seller, who was asking the world on the price, he convinced me by his resistance in negotiating the price. He also told me that he will only ship via fully insured Fedex Express, hence the full customs value.

I was still a bit unsure at the time since I have never purchased watches from South America, I've only heard the horror stories. And with the full customs value, I know that I will have to pay a lot more money for the watch that's already quite expensive as it is. But I've been wanting either Zenith, Jaeger or VC by UG for a while, and at the end, I wasn't sure if I ever come across another in this condition, so I took the chance.

    And without further ado,

I believe this is based on the UG cal 285 that has a restyled bridge, while the rest of the movement is unaltered.

The 35mm case is perfect, as I've been avoiding anything less than 34mm lately. Unpolished case, with original finish and hallmark that are still visible.

I'm not sure whether or not the buckle is genuine JLC or even period correct because it's not signed on the outside, but I know for sure that it's an original AW vintage solid gold buckle. Please let me know if anyone has some information about the buckle.

If you have any other watches with UG at heart, please share it here :) Here is the GP with UG cal 281 that I acquired last year,

    Hope you enjoy the thread.

    Thanks heaps

    Andre

Well bought. The dial discoloration actually shows much less than in the sales listing.

    Oh, and DIBS!

That's a beauty, Dre. How do you say "who dares wins" in Spanish?

I have a couple of Jaegers with Martel tickers, 18k and steel.

    Congrats Andre!

Here's my Zenith 156 (aka UG 287) with its UG counterpart.

No. I don't know of any Jaegers with ExParks. It is a Jaeger-branded Martel 285

Doesn't matter how you say it in Spanish, but when it comes to you M, I dare not say!

Mate, been waiting for you to post that Zenith Compur ::love::

I'm pretty sure I'm first at this, it's been written in Lou's will :D

Yep. Dre and I have a quid pro quo - a "last man standing" arrangement, void in case I meet a suspicious end, just so he does not get any ideas.

Little too much dial munge for me but petty clear GP by UG. Lots to like here though.
