The Just One More, and I'm done!

Keeps buying "The One", loves each one every time he puts them on, but still longs for one more. Just one more, and I can stop. Justifies the purchase with, well this one has this or that feature, shape, size or color. Does not sell any. Really really wants to stop! Maybe this type is The Addict...

The big Z collector:
The guy who's owned Seiko, Omega and Rolex and knows they are great watches, but then buys his first Zenith el primero.... Sits in his lawn chair, pops a cold beverage, sinks down 4 inches and realizes "he has arrived." Staring down at his wrist as the sun glistens off his new aquisition -he thinks... I must have another!

Self reflection is always interesting. This thread is Timely since I got my insurance policy renewal yesterday. My watch inventory and purchase prices in the document was a WTF moment.

Gets easier to do when your counting watch cases instead of watches 😉

The Vintage or Nothing Collector
Knows the vintage market well enough to spot any part swaps done by unscrupulous vintage watch sellers. Knows on sight from the case serial number, the year of production, and if the dial, bracelet and caseback are all correct for the watch. Often times willing to share this knowledge to help out other members unless they are a newbie and then just tell them they should educate themselves before dipping their toes in the market. Would rather lose their left nut than buy a modern watch.

Let me be perfectly clear: Sean was referring to another Adam, AKA Gladiator on VWF, who is not a member here...😉

Bespoke starter
The guy that gets into watches and buys several watches at the $500 price range. Has 5 watches before he realised he should have just bought a Omega Speedmaster to start with as now he has a Speedmaster and 5 watches he never wears. The 5 mid range watches led him to researching about a quality watch.

^^^Oh snap....that's me?!?!?!

The I have a void in my life collector

Basically the eternal hobbyist that follows a similar pattern with other aspects of his life and often buys when 1/ depressed or 2/ happy or 3/ both

He does genuinely enjoy the watches as they are something consistently beautiful in his life.

If you feel bad for this category then the next time you see me give me a hug.
