Does the racing dial have a step? The lack of T's, the oval O and the short hashes on the minute subdial make me wonder if this dial could have been made for a 2915 or early 2998 but used by Omega for a later Special Purpose?

Please allow me to be in opposition and let us admit that two industrially manufactured timepieces can be regarded as authentic "grails".
In such a case, following what it was said in this topic, https://omegaforums.net/threads/the...to-the-golden-age-of-swiss-watchmaking.53761/ , should not we conclude that a unique Observatory Chronometer with a carefully shaped blue overcoil hairspring and a Guillaume alloy balance with gold adjusting screws, fruit of several hundrend of highly skilled hours of labour and dedication, is an art masterpiece?
However, I have never noticed over the years the same deal of excitement about these really unique chronometers.

First I love this. Thank you for showing.

But you are not in opposition. This is not a (speedmaster) grail! It's another kind of grail entirely.

As you rightly Illustrate.

You are right: I did not show a (speedmaster) grail. As a matter of fact, I overlooked the word "Speedmaster" in parentheses.
Thank you. 馃榾

As I sublime further into the secret world of Obsessive and Secretive Speedmaster Illuminati Collectors, I finally got my hands on these, which frankly cost more than I care to share, in terms of time, travel and money.

Two of the rarest dials seen on 1960's speedmasters, some of which many have never seen before. The grey soleil is not a blue soleil, and it is a soleil not matte grey like the others I have seen. Extraordinary.

These two account for why I have sold a few watches recently, and why I shall be selling one or two more.

The soleil is a grail for sure , extreme jealously

There are two greys here in AU at present to add to that number, one was sold by a local watch dealer here for peanuts a few years back.
