I still use my iPhone 6 and get good results. Are you tapping the screen to focus? Also do you use two fingers on the screen to magnify the subject? This is a photo I took on my old phone, so you should get better images or as good with the next model up. Also out doors or in a light room like a conservatory work best. Make sure the lens is clean too!
cool thanks for the tips Mike. I will give it a shot later this morning and post some results in the WRUW thread after I drop our kid off at school
I don't have a 7, but with other iPhone (and similar) cameras I've found that giving plenty of light makes a huge difference. If your photos all look fuzzy/grainy, you probably need more light. A tripod or stand is great, but even without one, if you can find a way to lean on a fixed object so the phone isn't bouncing around, it will help stabilize considerably. Worst-case, some third-party camera apps could help. There's too many to choose from (like watches! but slightly cheaper). I personally like "Neurocam" - it will take many frames and combine them for the best shot. It's probably overkill for most cases. And as Mike says.... clean your lens.
point your camera at the subject item, touch the screen on the item (phone will autofocus on it), take photo. Look at photo in “photos”, zoom in and crop etc., save the version you like.
Note that a camera cannot focus if you are too close to the subject: past a point, getting closer will make the picture worse, not better. Better to take the picture as close as you can get sharp focus and then crop/enlarge to see detail. Based on what I see online, the closest an iPhone 7 can focus is 80mm (3.2"), so if you are closer than that, back off. And lots of light.
Yeesh. My dad was grumpy AF and all he left me was a quarter-share in a used Volkswagen (and not even the quarter with the steering wheel).
Bought a loupe. Second digit Looks like a 0, and a 6. Went with 6 and sent off an Extract of the Archives
That photo is a lot better. 26,079,873. Am 99% sure it's that. Its within range for a UM. There may have been other pieces in range too but as a point of interest, the accepted range is over 3000 units wide...
5 days since you asked for the extract... did you receive any mail? We want to know the end of the story!!
I have not heard anything yet. The omega customer service person said it could be up to 8 weeks to hear anything.
I recently ordered an extract, it took about 10 days before the digital copy was available in my account. That was approx. 5 days ago, now I’m waiting to receive the physical copy.
I ordered an extract 8 plus weeks ago. I have not seen or heard anything. I talked to their customer service people twice and they said they will get back to me. They have yet to.
I guess it's not an Ultraman after all? Could have got the numbers wrong. Lacking the remark about the orange hand in the Archive.
