I recently got interested in this 3 watches, i really like 75xx 79xx vintage look, i would buy new Heritage or Pelagos because of the modern look and snowflake hands (i believe that what its been nicknamed as?) i wont do that, it doesnt suite my taste.

I also do not like thick watches or anything outside of 38-42mm case size diameter, they just do not look right on me.

Please correct me if i am wrong but all 3 came with optional size of 36mm and 41mm?

Given these are older watches is it normal to expect them running with significant delay or advanced seconds?

Is Tudor expensive to service if i was to buy scuffed one and got it serviced where i presume they replace some of the casing and polish links?

I really dont want to spend more than 拢2,200, i am been too low?

I might not buy one till end of next year, gotta save! Are these 3 likely to increase in sale price?

Any help appreciated or alternatives 馃榾

get a black bay! can't go wrong.

well as per my post i do not like the snowflake hands, just doesn't look as nice, i dont like the crown shape, lack of protective curves around it, the snowflake hands and bezel with much smaller gaps.

it is good value though!

I love this thread. Is the Black Bay the Speedmaster of Rolex/Tudor world?

Lets get the designations right first:

75090 and 79090 have acryllic crystal 5 and 9 refer to the size (5 = 36mm, 9 = 39mm)
75190 and 79190 have sapphire crystal.

To get the vintage feel, get the ones with acryllic.

Prices are rising, within the last year I've seen the buying price of these rise 30%-50% (but that's just my experience YMMV). GBP2200 will get you into a 79090 (39mm acryllic crystal) in close to new condition but only just. Probably not a blue one, which buyers value more. GBP2200 is readily achievable for the other models.

Personally I love these models. No Rolex stigma, IMHO way cooler than a Rolex Sub, easily available ETA movement parts, and although we don't buy for appreciation, the upside is high.

Downside is that there are so many fakes. The one's that I've personally handled base off a fake Rolex Sub case which are all over the place. Easily available fake parts plus much less authoritative information (vs Rolex Subs) makes this a risky buy if you don't buy from someone you can trust.

Again, all of this is just my opinion.

First helpful post.

Is there something else you recommend ? I am a bit unsure spending over 2,5k for older watch.

Wait fakes from hard to find fake sub cases with hard to find ETA knock offs with an easy to fake dial? Who would go to that trouble 馃槈

Since you don't want that, maybe one of these?

I quite like the Oris 65 as another retro option for a good price new. Good luck with your choice!!
