Tudor only uses ceramic bezels on the Pelagos. The Black Bay still uses aluminum! [emoji23]

That is unacceptable on that price point, the BB is an automatic no go for me, aluminum bezels are only for vintage these days.

I suppose it's a matter of perspective - I dislike the look of ceramic bezels, so have zero interest in a watch that has them. Not everyone likes the blingy aspect of these...

Once you own ceramic, there is no looking back, the looks, the durability and the Tech behind it, is too good, but you have to own it to know it 349dae03af6ea7b6d6e1041eb5c8e917.jpg

No I don't have to own it to know it...I handle watches of all types every day mate. I know it's difficult for some people to fathom that their preferences are not everyone's preferences, but I know what I like and dislike. You appear to like very loud watches with a lot of bling - that's simply not my taste.

Shiny dials and gold surrounds were enough to turn me off modern Rolex watches, and adding a blingy ceramic bezel just adds to the visual noise in my view. Two-tone is the icing on the cake I suppose.

I'm happy that you enjoy them but they are not for me.

Agreed. I had a 116610 ceramic and while it's nice, the tudor doesn't feel any worse. Or less.

Personal choice. Just like Ford or Chevy pick ups. Glad everyone can get what they want.

Exactly, to each its own, that's the beauty of being a individual human being

I disagree - I have a GMT 2 with ceramic bezel and I love it. The durability etc as you say appeals very much to me and I love the look. However, I also have a Black Bay with the aluminium bezel and I also love that. It's just a different style to the ceramic, not better or worse, just different. For me the Black Bay has a really good look and feel and the aluminium bezel works very well in that model. I think a ceramic bezel on a Black Bay would lose some of the charm. However, I much prefer the ceramic on my GMT to the older non-ceramic GMTs (except the classic Pepsi which is, obviously, awesome!).

Like I said earlier. It's nice there are choices out there. One is no better than the other. What should bring us here is a fascination for great timepieces, not a need to pick apart someone else's choice.

I agree and respect your opinion, but for me, a watch in that category should not have a aluminum bezel, and I won't pay that much for it, but that's just me

Exactly is a matter of choice, and is good to have different offerings

Agreed. Aluminum bezels for me, too. They may scratch, but they don't break as easily, and they're much cheaper to replace (and better looking, IMO.)

I've never been able to do a dive watch on a leather strap, but that combo does look great! I love my black SMPc as well even with my little wrists (6.5"). The watch wears small IMO probably due to the bezel size.

Is it true that aluminium bezels will age too? Unlike ceramic ones.

Aged, get all scratched up...same difference. 😀

Even though I've just purchased a black SMP, I've got to give props to the Tudor as well. I live about 300 miles from the nearest watch dealer, (other than Rolex) and happened to try on the Black Bay 36 this morning. It is a really fine watch. As May Poppins would say, "Practically perfect in every way!"

I just made an inquiry on a used one.
