You wear your NATOs the wrong way around, just FYI. Also check out Haveston straps if you don't like the bulk of the tail.

It's intentionally馃槈 I prefer to have the bulk on the inner side. Havestone's sliding loop is nice, but I am not the biggest fan of the colours in a currrent line-up.

Of the two watches you are considering, I would choose the Black Bay in black (I am biased, I have one). As others mentioned, try to find the ETA version - it looks great on a NATO and I also love mine on the new RubberB strap. Whilst the SMP is undoubtedly a great watch, I just can't get past the aesthetics of the bracelet (personally I don't think it looks good) and I'm not a fan of the bezel shape.

As for those thinking of getting the Globemaster in blue, I am wearing one right now so I figured I ought to attach an enabling photo...
Love that blue Globemaster!

Timely thread for me as I currently have a Seamaster 300 SMP (wave dial) as a weekend/vacation/swimming watch. I've had it for about 5 years on a NATO (found the clasp to be a scratch magnet) but haven't ever really bonded with it for some reason. So I've been thinking of selling to partially fund either an Omega 300 master Co-Axial or Tudor BB

I went into an Omega AD to try on the 300 MC yesterday afternoon and my initial impression was that it felt and looked VERY thick as compared to my SMP (and the 16760 Rolex GMT I was wearing). Great looking dial but perhaps too thick for me at 15mm.

Then went over to a Tudor AD and tried on a BB and I also felt like that seemed to wear large on my wrist as compared to the SMP or the 16760 GMT.... the sides in particular seemed massive to me. Thickness is apparently 12.75mm but I'm not sure it wears that much thinner than the 15mm Omega given the substantial lug profile.

Maybe I should stick with the SMP, or perhaps there are other options I'm overlooking in this price range (I'm looking secondhand - 300 MC can be found under $4k and BB (black) around $2,500 on bracelet).

The blue SMPc is one of the best watches in history and, as an added bonus, is superb value for money.

Do you recall where you got this strap, base? Looks great.

While I have a growing appreciation for the Tudor BB, imho it doesn't compare to the Omega ceramic SMP. These new Seamasters are the most beautiful models Omega has ever produced. A new high water mark for the lads.

I keep looking at yours and I guess I'm going to have to take one of my bracelets and get it fitted with the micro clasp, then put it back on one of mine...probably the blue. I like the NATO on the black too much.

I received my black SMP this past Wednesday and am compelled to share my first impressions.

I was simply not prepared for how strikingly beautiful the watch is. I've spent several months trying to scratch my itch and had it narrowed down to the Tudor Black Bay 36, a Rolex Submariner or the SMP. The Omega PO was in the running for a bit, but it was just to thick.

I've got skinny 6.5" wrists and my only other Omega is a 2500 Aqua Terra shown in my avatar. I was concerned that the SMP would be to big for my wrists, but to my delight, it wears beautifully. I put on a dark brown leather rally strap and holy crap! This thing is beautiful.

When wearing my Aqua Terra, (on a brown alligator strap) I would take it off everyday after work. With the SMP it looks so good in both work attire and jeans that I leave it on all day. I can't stress enough how much more beautiful it is in real life than in pictures.

I bought it here from Matt, (MDGRWL) and couldn't be happier.

That's the beauty of the SMP, it wears fine on 99% of the wrist, another thing, pics or it didn't happen

I haven't had the chance to have the bracelet sized. It'll be a couple of weeks before I have the chance, but I'll probably end up with leather.

Order a 1.8mm screwdriver, an anvil, and tweezers from Esslinger and do it yourself. Modern Omega bracelets are amazingly easy to size.

These bracelets are held together with flat head screws on either side that hold a wire shaft, or pin in place. Remove the screws then use a 1/32 dia, piece of music wire or a drill bit to gently push the pin out. Easy and you'll have learned how to remove the links which, over time, you may want to replace if your wrists expand
